In Ghana, free public education is available only through the middle school years. Children who live in poor, rural villages rarely have the opportunity to attend secondary school, because of the expense. The AOV Education Sponsorship Program identifies qualified students and rewards them with the opportunity to attend secondary or vocational school at one of our partner institutions. AOV Education sponsors get a chance to continue their educations and pursue their dreams.
English is the official language of Ghana and the language in which all secondary school instruction is carried out. Unfortunately, many schools in the rural villages lack adequate resources to effectively provide students with the English training they need to succeed in secondary school.
The AOV English Intensive program will give students in the village an opportunity to study English for up to 11 weeks under the instruction one of our volunteer education professionals.
